# THIN-GAUGE THERMOFORMING · PRECISION CLEAN TRAYS

THIN-GAUGE THERMOFORMING · PRECISION CLEAN TRAYS

Tray design, thermoforming, washing and clean packing built around your part's shape, ESD protection and cleanliness requirements — with the structure verified against how your line picks and places.

- **20 m** In-house washing line
- **DI** Water spray wash, clean drying
- **Class 100** Inspection and packing room

## Three tray families, one cleaning process.

### Semiconductor / PCB trays

Chips · FPC · PCB assemblies · components

- Antistatic or conductive materials
- A pocket designed for every part, so nothing shifts or touches
- Clean-packed in a class-100 room after washing

### Optical product trays

Lenses · lens modules · optical elements

- Clear A-PET and other materials for visual checks
- Contact surfaces designed to limit scratching
- 20× magnified foreign-matter check after washing

### Precision part trays

Machined parts · equipment parts · assemblies

- Locating features matched to fixtures and lines
- Stacking, de-stacking and pick-up designed for your equipment
- Drop-tested with parts loaded

**Forming precision, year on year** (2018 → 2023)

- Max. depth: 50 → 120 mm
- Min. rib between pockets: 5 → 1.0 mm

## From sheet to tray, on automated lines.

Class-10,000 forming hall: Automated forming lines 6, High-speed formers 3

- **Throughput** More automation and a steady cycle support volume deliveries
- **Consistency** Less handling keeps batch after batch the same
- **Cost** Less manual work lowers production cost

Fastest tray mold (within 500 mm); typically 2 days 8 h · prototype minimum 50 pcs · production minimum 500 pcs

## Clean trays, from wash to pack.

In-house tray washing line · 2016: Line length 20 m, Effective washing width 950 mm

1. **Load** Formed trays enter the washing line
2. **DI water spray** Sprayed with deionised water
3. **Clean drying** Dust-free air drying, no water marks
4. **Inspection** Checked in the class-100 room
5. **Clean packing** Clean-packed, then stored

- **Class 10,000** Forming room
- **Class 100** Inspection and packing room

A cleanroom class describes particles in the air; the cleanliness of a tray's surface is accepted separately, against an agreed sampling method and limit.

## Choose the material for the protection needed.

**Base materials**: A-PET (Clear, rigid), PS (N) (Easy to form, economical), PP (N) (Tough, fold-resistant)

**ESD protection**: Standard (Parts without ESD requirements), Antistatic (Electronics that must not build up charge), Conductive (Sensitive parts that need charge drained fast)

ESD performance is confirmed against an agreed surface-resistance range and test conditions; trays that are washed are verified again after washing.

**Our own material plants** Shajing, Shenzhen: PET and PS · Zhuhai: ABS

## Trays that keep your line moving.

- **Stacking & de-stacking** Anti-stacking tester checks nesting and jamming
- **Vacuum pick-up** Vacuum cups simulate pick and place
- **Hold & drop** Drop-tested loaded: parts stay put, undamaged

## Your acceptance criteria, applied to samples.

- **Laser particle counter** Monitors air cleanliness in the class-100 room
- **20× magnified inspection** Finds loose foreign matter on washed trays, then traces its source
- **Coordinate measuring machine** Measures tray dimensions in three dimensions

**Records available per project** (Supplied with samples; acceptance methods as agreed): Dimensional report, Foreign-matter inspection, Room monitoring record, ESD test record

## Send tray requirements

Molds in as little as 8 hours within 500 mm, typically 2 days · prototypes from 50 · production from 500

### Do antistatic trays still need washing?

It depends on how clean the part must be. Antistatic performance stops charge building up; it does not make a surface clean. Forming, cutting and handling can still leave particles and chips on a tray. Trays with cleanliness requirements are washed with DI water, dried clean, then inspected and packed in our class-100 room, and their ESD performance is checked again after washing.

### How is cleanroom class different from tray cleanliness?

A cleanroom class (such as class 10,000 or class 100) describes particle concentration in the air of a room. Tray cleanliness is what remains on the tray's surface, and is accepted separately against an agreed sampling method and limit. We control both: the room is monitored with a laser particle counter, and washed trays get a 20× magnified foreign-matter check.
