## Mold making: 3- and 5-axis CNC, 5-axis added in 2025

## Forming envelope: up to 2600×1600×600 mm, sheet up to 15 mm

Heavy-gauge housings and thin-gauge trays are specified separately by sheet thickness, part size and forming depth.

- **2600×1600×600 mm** Maximum single heavy-gauge part size
- **15 mm** Maximum heavy-gauge sheet thickness
- **8–10 mm** Sheet commonly used for heavy-gauge housings
- **120 mm** Maximum thin-gauge tray depth, 2025–2026

## Thin-gauge molds: 0.5–1.0 mm vacuum holes, PTFE-coated cavities

Thin-gauge tray molds combine a cavity, vacuum holes and a coating. After forming, thin-gauge trays are die-cut; heavy-gauge parts receive CNC holes, slots and edge trimming.

### Thin-gauge tray tooling

- Cavity: PTFE coating
- Vacuum holes: 0.5–1.0 mm diameter

### Post-forming operations

- Thin-gauge trays: Die-cutting press cuts the outline
- Heavy-gauge parts: CNC holes, slots and edge trimming

## Thermoforming quality and process: 4 questions

**Are thermoforming molds made in-house?**
Yes. FUNYO uses in-house 3- and 5-axis CNC machining. Heavy-gauge tooling takes about 1–3 weeks.

**How quickly can a thin-gauge tray be sampled?**
For trays within 500 mm, mold making and sample delivery can be completed in 8 hours.

**What is the maximum heavy-gauge part size?**
A single part can reach 2600×1600×600 mm. Maximum sheet thickness is 15 mm; housings commonly use 8–10 mm sheet.

**Does FUNYO make its own sheet?**
FUNYO has its own PET/PS and ABS sheet production bases.
